What are you waiting for?

From Neale Donald Walsch http://www.theglobalconversation.com/blog/?p=883

God is the source of all help to people in the world, but most people are asking God for the wrong kind of help—and even then they are not turning to God except when it is too late.

Most people are asking God to change things. They are asking for a change in the situations, circumstances, and events of their lives—not understanding that they are asking God to undo the very conditions that they, themselves, have co-created.

They are asking God for peace on Earth, and goodwill between all people—while they, themselves, continue to co-create the opposite.

They are asking God for health, safety, and security—while they, themselves, continue to co-create the opposite.

They are asking God for everyone to have an equal opportunity for full self-expression, for abundance, and for personal happiness—while they, themselves, continue to co-create the opposite.

Yes, it is true. All the while that we humans send up our prayers to God, we deny that we, ourselves, are continuing to co-create the opposite of that for which we say we yearn.

The chief problem facing humanity today is our absolute refusal to accept responsibility for the experiences that we, ourselves, are collaboratively creating.

What God deeply desires us to do is to allow God to empower us. Yet when we turn to God for the wrong kind of help at the wrong time, it disempowers us, because it affirms our thought that that we are the victims of the circumstances in which we find ourselves. As well, it furthers our thought that we are powerless to alter the circumstance we have created, and that God is now the only one who can help us–if there even is a “God.”

As long as most people think of themselves as being at the effect of the events or circumstances in their lives, they are bound to repeat them, because they are not aware of how or why those events have occurred.

This is a declaration, in 40 words, of the precise reason that life is the way it is on the Planet Earth today.

People are not at the effect of the events and circumstances in their lives, they are at cause in the matter.

Every event and circumstance on Earth is jointly produced, placed into the collective reality as a collaborative creation of The Collective Itself. And the tragedy is that The Collective does not know this—or, worse yet, does know this, and merely acts as if it does not.

The result of this is that most people wind up turning to God at the wrong time….usually after, rather than before, events have taken place or circumstances have been created.

This is because most people do not know who they truly are, nor do they have an accurate understanding of what their relationship with God is.

Thus, people think that most of them are at the effect of events and conditions such as conflict and war, financial collapse, political upheaval, violence and killing. It is the tiny few who are in power who are creating them, and the masses are left to only endure them.

And when it comes to so-called Acts of Nature, even the powerful few are thought to be at the effect of life. No humans anywhere can be said to have anything to do with global warming (which half the planet continues to deny is even occurring), earthquakes, hurricanes and tornadoes, raging wildfires, torrential rains, or tsunamis—or the increase in disease among the Earth’s people, such as the growing cancer rate, or the increase in early heart attacks, stroke, and Alzheimer’s.

When an entire culture refuses to believe that it has anything to do with what is occurring, it cannot do anything about what is occurring.

And this, in 25 words, is a summation of the present reality on Planet Earth.

The Conversations Movement is about doing something about it. And the first thing we all have to do about it is to talk about it. We have to talk about what nobody wants to talk about. And that is: Who is creating the circumstances we decry–and how are we all collectively doing it? And how can we collectively UNdo it?

That’s what we’re going to continue doing right here, in this space, in the days and weeks ahead. But we have to do more than just talk about it here. We have to talk about it everywhere. That’s why we are encouraging the formation of Global Conversation Discussion Groups all over the world. To get the conversation going on the subjects that nobody wants to talk about.

Have you formed a Global Conversation Discussion Group in your community? If not, can you think of a reason why you have not? Here are some you may have considered.

1. It won’t do any good.

2. You don’t have enough time.

3. No one will understand what you are trying to do.

4. No one will come.

5. People won’t know what to do about the things we talk about.

We are going to tackle these common objections one at a time in the coming entries here. Please stay tuned. Over a quarter of a million people have visited this website. That’s enough collective energy to change the world.

Topic: Uncovering and understanding the power of your beliefs

There is a difference between wishing for a thing and being ready to receive it. No one is ready for a thing until he believes he can acquire it. The state of mind must be belief, not mere hope or wish. Open-mindedness is essential for belief. Closed minds do not inspire faith, courage, and belief. ~ Napoleon Hill

Beliefs are fundamental in shaping your reality for better or worse, and affect all areas of your life, impacting the levels of success, happiness, and love you create and allow.

Limiting beliefs may be hidden, passive or unconscious.   Think about what strategies limiting beliefs may cause you to adopt (i.e. what you feel you must do, or how you feel you should behave to succeed given your beliefs). Limiting beliefs might present as behaviors like people pleasing, trying to prove your worth, acting aloof and nonchalant, withdrawing, being pessimistic, acting over-confident, creating drama or being antagonistic to get attention, sacrificing or being a martyr, in drama, a victim, etc.  These kinds of behavior strategies are self-defeating and only perpetuate the belief that lies at their root. Being conscious of this is one step on the road to freedom!

Your negative ego has an investment in negative beliefs. It will interpret life's events to feed the lies of these self-condemning beliefs in a self-defeating catch-22 pattern.  Notice defense and resistance when you face a limiting belief.  All  negative beliefs around love (being loved, loving and loveable), belonging, mattering and significance, as well as around your value and deserving, all of which will impact your sense of worth, are important to identify and release.

Take time to reflect and uncover your limiting beliefs; watch for when you feel frustrated, defensive, judgmental and rigid in your thinking or possibilities.   Catch yourself and then ask yourself “what do I believe about this that is causing my feelings” – “is that true?”.   Journal and / or meditate on when, how & where your limiting beliefs are presenting themselves in your life.  Use a mirror to ask your Essence where it is being blocked by ego’s limiting beliefs.  Bring limiting beliefs to your awareness to allow choice and change.

Own your light, your gifts, and your goodness. Own the love that you are and acknowledge your inherent innocence and worth.  Whatever you have experienced in this life time, the truth shall ever remain: you are a Divine being born of love, and you are loved totally and unconditionally by the source of creation, ever and always. There is nothing you need to win that love, and nothing you can do to lose it, for you are loved completely.

Allow yourself healing and the attraction of resources that will help you release that which you are not, and unravel and embrace the brilliance and love that you are!  You are not your darkness, failings or mistakes. Love the uglier sides of you, for it is they that need it the most. Accept  yourself for who and where you are right now.  Lovingly create NEW beliefs for a fresh new life!

Mold a NEW self-image.  Who do you want to be?   YOU decide!  What do you want to create?  Get imagining!  You have gifts, talents and strengths, and you can work on these. You have certain traits and characteristics, and that is wonderful!  And you are a powerful creator, whether you realize it or not. You are creating your reality in every moment. It's not a question of whether you can manifest, but of how you already are. Choose beliefs, thoughts, feelings and attitudes that most serve you.

Many personal development and spiritual work focuses on healing issues, processing and overcoming blocks and problems, but you don't want to get stuck there!  Sometimes it can be more about letting go of what you're not to reveal who you truly are, and owning your innocence and love.  As you accept yourself as you are, you more easily let go of what you're not.

Judgment only makes things stick, so have COMPASSION for yourself. Be loving and tender with yourself. Be kind and become your own best friend.  And ERADICATE those faulty beliefs!!  ~ inspired by an ad shared by www.beliefbusters.com

5 Steps to Mastery and Manifestation

by Michelle Barr on May 21, 2012

I am often asked what is the work I do and how do I do it. This is my Unique System, the way I work with my clients and students and the way I first transformed my own life. Here is the foundation for my work. I serve people through this work in many different ways, including my Inner Circle monthly group coaching program, my private individual coaching program, along with my ongoing products, programs and services. I invite you to read this and then click on the labeled tabs above to learn more about each of these.

"DISCOVER"

Discover: Begin creating awareness. Whatever you are ready to work on and release will show up. Learn to work with the unconscious, subconscious and conscious to bring to the surface what no longer serves you so that you can shift it and move forward, out of what you don’t want and into what you do want.

"SHIFT"

Shift: Clearing, healing and resolving what is getting in your way. If it is showing up in your world, you have called it forth into consciousness so you can release it. There are many ways to do this. It is far-reaching and will create powerful change in yourself and your life. Energy Healing really does work. It is one part of the whole. At any given time, you have a variety of life situations you are experiencing. They may not always at first appear to be related, or you are so close to them that you cannot see what is really going on. These life situations are symptoms, and they can lead you directly to the root causes and the underlying energetic situations you are playing out at your deepest level. When you make changes at this level, these things stop showing up. They are showing up for you to clear, heal and resolve, and they are coming to the surface now, because you are asking for things, you are setting intentions and radiating desire. These things that are showing up are in response to that. This is what is showing up that no longer serves you, that you cannot take with you where you want to go, that you cannot hold onto as who you want to be, and that will not be able to exist alongside what you want to have. All of this holds valuable feedback and resources so you can get to the root cause, stop the symptomology that is the repeating life situations showing up in their varied forms, and get to the core of what is really going on, so you can consciously create change for the better.

"ACT"

Act: Your next step is the one that most people get stuck at, and many do not move forward at this point, often for many, many years, sometimes for a lifetime. You must take new action and get new results. Learn to read the feedback, do your work in the physical third-dimensional world, and allow the Universal Energy to work with you and for you. Energy Healing works in the Fifth Dimension. The Fourth Dimension is where we work with our thoughts and feelings. When we stop here, we create a rich inner world that is not reflected in our outer world. We long to escape more and more into this world. Our physical world continues to deteriorate. At some point, we begin to lose the ability to create what we need to meet our basic needs. We are left longing for love, money, relationships, fulfilling work, a home that is our sanctuary, and other worldly things that continue to elude us.

"BELIEVE"

Believe: As we take new action, we are able to build new beliefs, to find and integrate new evidence to support these beliefs, to get rid of limiting beliefs and to anchor in new desirable beliefs that support us very powerfully in manifesting what we desire. We first must do the emotional work of clearing, healing and resolving. Much of this has been overlayed upon who we truly authentically are throughout our life and beginning in utero. This is the stuff that keeps us stuck. We have pushed much of it deep into our unconscious and subconscious, but it is still driving our bus. From here, we can move forward to do the mindset work.

We act on what we believe, not what we know.

"CREATE"

Create: Now, you step fully into being the Creator of your own experience. You move away from Victim energy and the perpetual cycle of Victim/Rescuer/Victim and into the powerful cycle of Creator. With more responsibility comes more power. And it is always your choice. Create what you want. Live the life you desire and dream of. This is what I call Quantum Living, and these are the 5 stages, the natural progression you move through to come to this place of Divine Power and Divine Abundance.

We must become the Master before we can Manifest. Learn to Master your Self, Master your Emotions, Master your Energy, Master your Gifts, and Master your Mindset.

Gratitude and Life Q & A

Fran Menley shared this great article that supports our recent discussions on the power of gratitude for all of life's experiences....

Question:
I am confused regarding gratitude and life ... so how do we improve our life if we are supposed to be happy with what we got all the time ?

My Answer: By Johnathan Lockwood Huie

That is a great question. The answer comes in two parts...

1. If you truly are happy, what else would you want? How could you "improve" upon a truly 100% happy life?

2. Blessings flow toward gratitude. If you give thanks for your affluence, the love in your life, and so forth, that gratitude acts as a magnet to attract more affluence, love, and other blessings into your life. This works both energetically and in the physical world. Imagine that you give a small gift to each of two friends. One of them smiles at you and says, "Thank you so much." The other frowns and says, "Is this all you are giving me?" To which of your friends are you more likely to give another, larger, gift? That is the way Spirit works.

It is my practice to be grateful every day for ALL of life. Whatever appears to be a burden is either a deferred blessing or a lesson. Who am I to know Spirit's intention for me, so I believe in the future and I am grateful.

Each of us has been infinitely blessed - beginning with the gift of life. Whatever may appear to be missing or broken on any particular day, our glass is not half full, it is 99.9% full. More practically, when we feel ungrateful, we become unhappy and stressed. When we choose to feel and express our gratitude, the act of feeling and speaking our thanks creates a happiness within us. The more we express our gratitude, the more we have for which to be grateful.

I'm happy with how I've lived my life because I choose to be happy. Regrets and resentments are a sure path to unhappiness, so I am very careful to avoid them. I consciously forgive myself for any choices I made in the past that I would not repeat today.

I Receive ALL of Life with Thanksgiving - I have gratitude for EVERYTHING that has ever occurred to bring me to this moment. I give thanks for the joys and the sufferings, the moments of peace and the flashes of anger, the compassion and the indifference, the roar of my courage and the cold sweat of my fear. I accept gratefully the entirety of my past and my present life.

Today in My World: Let Today be a day to be grateful for everything. NOTICE all of life. Observe the tastes and smells, as well as the sights and sounds. Notice the gentle breeze, the bird, the flower, the tree. Pay attention to the baby and the kitten. Take five minutes today to place several pieces of fruit or other pleasant food in a bowl, and give thanks. Hold the bowl reverently, and give thanks for all of life.

"Tell me Something Good"

“Tell Me Something Good” - Michael Jordan Segal ©2012

Many people that work at the hospital know me by the phrase/question: “Tell me something good!” Of course there are many things in this world that are bad; HOWEVER, there are also many, many things in this world that are good.

It took me years before I realized this valuable life’s lesson, but I finally learned it! Therefore, I “spread” this message around work at the Harris Healthcare System, mainly at Ben Taub General Hospital on the trauma floor, to patients, families and staff.

On one occasion I called a discharged patient, Barbara, whom I had worked with over a lengthy hospitalization. Every time I would enter her room, I would ask her to “tell me something good!” At first, she did not have any answers because she felt that “nothing was good.” However, eventually she started thinking deeply and realized, “Sure, I have many problems, but I also have many positive things. At least I am able to say I woke up.”

She became positive and started smiling more and more, as she progressed daily. Eventually, she was discharged from the hospital. After a week, I called her to see how she was doing. Barbara answered the phone and I said, “Hi, this is Mike Segal.” I waited for her to respond . . . and waited . . . and waited some more. I heard nothing but breathing on the other end of the phone. I broke the silence by repeating, “This is Mike Segal” and added “from Ben Taub Hospital.” I was sure she now would realize who I was; however, again “nothing” but silence on the other end of the phone receiver. Quickly I said, “Tell me something good!”

I could “feel” Barbara’s smile as she screamed, “MIKE!” She started yelling out questions and said she was doing very well. Now, it was my turn to smile!

I never know what to expect when I ask that question. One day I walked into a room and saw a patient in his hospital bed with his wife close by in a chair. “Hi, it’s Mike. Hello John . . . Hello Sara. John, tell me something good.”

I had been working with his wife, mainly in the waiting room, so I had not had much interaction with John, especially since he had been in the ICU, heavily sedated. However, now it was my time to ask my question, “Tell me something good.”

John calmly answered, “Peanut Butter.”

I started laughing and said, “Yes . . . Peanut Butter is good, but tell me something good ABOUT YOU!”

“I am looking forward to eating a Peanut Butter sandwich.”

I continued to laugh as I thought, “At least he is not thinking negatively!”

Yet another patient, Mary, had been in the hospital for many weeks. She was beginning to get somewhat depressed, thinking on more than one occasion “that she would never be discharged from the hospital.” I tried to encourage her, having her focus on what was positive in her life: family, friends, improving . . . I told her about one of my favorite books (out of print), which was a collection of positive short stories called, “Focus On The Bagel, Not On The Hole.” I explained that, “Sure, there are many bad things in life; however, there are so many great things: Like the bagel!” I always tried to encourage her to “FOCUS ON THE BAGEL!”

One Monday when I walked into Mary’s room, I saw her smiling from ear to ear. I quickly asked, “Mary, tell me something good.” She hurriedly replied, “Mike, the doctor said maybe I could go home at the end of the week!”

I jumped back in, asking, “So what’s the first thing you’re going to do when you get home?”

Mary calmly smiled and said, “I’m going to eat a bagel . . . with Philadelphia cream cheese spread over and blocking the hole!”

I laughed, but realized how far she had come – both physically and emotionally. Sure, life can hurt, but Mary taught me that with a positive attitude, plus the Philadelphia cream cheese, most things are possible!

Topic:  The power of Giving
Inspired by Fran Menley and Karmic Management

Begin by doing a breath meditation for a few minutes: notice the breath and how it flows in and out  of your body.  Breath in and recieve (fill up your lungs and into your belly), pause. Now breath out and share the breath from your body (slow and full).  When you pause in between your breaths feel the importance of each movement of air.   This natural and necessary practice of breathing is a perfect example for our topic tonight.

How to buy Happiness:
http://www.ted.com/talks/lang/en/michael_norton_how_to_buy_happiness.html

The law of circulation states that all things in the universe are always flowing in circulation but at an ever expanding rate. What you give to one person, you will receive from a different source. So you don’t have to give with the expectation of receiving back from the same person you give to, but knowing that it will definitely come back to you multiplied from other sources. It works according to the law of cause and effect where the universe always mirrors back to you whatever you do.

"World Kindness Day"
where everyone can do ONE act of random kindness. As a result, just imagine what could happen, when all the people in the world become Angels for one day and only act of kindness can shift the whole world into a brighter more happier world. World Kindness day is officially on the 13th November but what if we practiced it everyday?

"Kindness is twice blessed. It blesses the one who gives it with a sense of his or her own capacity to love, and the person who receives it with a sense of the beneficence of the universe."
~ Daphne Rose Kingma
The Random Acts of Kindness Foundation

Discussion:

  • What is your experience when giving?  "Before giving, the mind of the giver is happy; while giving, the mind of the giver is made peaceful; and having given, the mind of the giver is uplifted."-Buddha
  • How important is it to give to yourself?  How is it different from giving to others? Why is it important? "You can search throughout the entire universe for someone who is more deserving of your love and affection than you are yourself, and that person is not to be found anywhere.  You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection." ~ Buddha

  • When/how can giving be unhealthy and disempowering?   Scientific studies show that giving from the heart, without strings attached or expecting something in return, results in the release of hormones such as oxytocin - also known as "the cuddle hormone". Science has also found that giving with expectations of getting something in return, such as exchanging money for necessities, products, or services, activates the area of the brain associated with pain.

  • What is your experience with recieving?  How does recieving affect giving?  The universe operates through dynamic exchange . . . giving and receiving are different aspects of the flow of energy in the universe. And in our willingness to give that which we seek, we keep the abundance of the universe circulating in our lives. ~ Depak Chopra

  • How do we make giving and recieving personal?

The Law of Giving and Receiving:The Law of Giving

1. Wherever I go, and whomever I encounter, I will bring them a gift. The gift may be a compliment, a flower, or a prayer. Today, I will give something to everyone I come into contact with, and so I will begin the process of circulating joy, wealth and affluence in my life and in the lives of others.

2. Today I will gratefully receive all the gifts that life has to offer me. I will receive the gifts of nature: sunlight and the sound of birds singing, or spring showers or the first snow of winter. I will also be open to receiving from others, whether it be in the form of a material gift, money, a compliment or a prayer.

3. I will make a commitment to keep wealth circulating in my life by giving and receiving life’s most precious gifts: the gifts of caring, affection, appreciation and love. Each time I meet someone, I will silently wish them happiness, joy and laughter.

  • Share your stories about giving and receiving - how was is it powerful for you...?
  • See you Tuesday...?
